Gen III LS.
Read, log, write.

TuneBench flashes GM Gen III LS engine computers with a P01 (512 KB) or P59 (1 MB) PCM over the OBD-II port. If your PCM is on this list, you can tune it from your phone tonight.

Gen III LS vehicles TuneBench can tune

These are the typical applications for P01 and P59 PCMs. GM mixed controllers across model years, so the PCM part number is what matters: TuneBench reads it and tells you before you spend anything.

* Some early F-body and C5 cars use a different controller. Connect with the free app to confirm yours. Writing a Pontiac GTO, any 2007+ GMT900 truck (E38) or a Duramax LB7/LLY is not available yet.

How do I know which PCM I have?

Connect TuneBench with your adapter and tap Read. The app reads the VIN, hardware number and operating system (OS) ID and tells you whether the controller can be written. Reading is free, so there is no risk in checking. You can also look at the label on the PCM: P01 and P59 units are the aluminum-cased, two-connector boxes mounted on the driver side of the engine bay on most trucks.

What's next

Gen IV (E38 and E67 on CAN) is the next platform. Reads already work on the bench and the write path is in testing with the community. After that: the rest of the GM VPW family (P04, P08, P10, P12), then other makes. Join the Discord to apply for the beta.
